General

What is LINK Medical?

LINK Medical is a UK-based diagnostics company that connects healthcare professionals with world-leading laboratory partners. We provide access to advanced genomic profiling, hereditary cancer testing, minimal residual disease monitoring, and early detection screening, all through a single, streamlined service.

Who can order tests through LINK Medical?

Our services are available to registered healthcare professionals including oncologists, clinical geneticists, genetic counsellors, pathologists, and multidisciplinary teams. Tests must be requested by a qualified clinician on behalf of their patient.

Which laboratory partners do you work with?

We partner with globally recognised laboratories including Tempus AI, Personalis, Nonacus, and ClearNote Health. Each partner is selected for their clinical accreditations, scientific rigour, and commitment to advancing cancer diagnostics.

Are your partner laboratories accredited?

Yes. All partner laboratories hold relevant clinical accreditations. These include UKAS accreditation, ISO 15189 certification, and CLIA/CAP certification depending on the laboratory. Accreditation details are provided on each product page and within test documentation.

Ordering & Requesting Tests

How do I request a test?

Browse our product pages, select the tests you need, and add them to your request form. Complete the required clinical and patient details, then submit your request. Our team will confirm receipt and coordinate sample logistics with you directly.

Can I request multiple tests at once?

Yes. You can add multiple tests across different product lines to a single request. This is particularly useful when ordering concurrent profiling and monitoring assays for the same patient.

Is there a minimum order requirement?

No. There is no minimum order. You can request a single test for one patient or submit multiple requests across your patient cohort. Volume arrangements are available for institutions with regular testing needs.

Can I modify or cancel a request after submission?

Requests can be modified or cancelled before sample processing begins. Please contact our team as soon as possible if you need to make changes. Once laboratory analysis has commenced, cancellation may not be possible and charges may apply.

Samples & Logistics

What sample types are required?

Sample requirements vary by test. Common sample types include FFPE tumour tissue blocks or slides, whole blood, and saliva. Specific requirements are clearly listed on each test detail page, and our team will provide collection kits and instructions as needed.

How are samples shipped?

LINK Medical coordinates all sample logistics. We provide pre-labelled, temperature-appropriate shipping materials and arrange courier collection from your facility. International shipments to partner laboratories are fully managed by our logistics team.

What happens if a sample fails quality checks?

If a sample does not meet the laboratory's quality requirements, our clinical liaison team will contact you promptly to discuss options. In most cases, a replacement sample can be submitted at no additional charge. We will guide you through the re-collection process.

Results & Reporting

How long does it take to receive results?

Turnaround times vary by test. Most genomic profiling results are delivered within 10-14 calendar days from sample receipt. Hereditary testing typically takes 15-20 working days. Specific turnaround times are listed on each test detail page and confirmed at the time of request.

How are results delivered?

Clinical reports are delivered electronically to the requesting clinician via secure channels. Reports include a comprehensive summary of findings, clinical interpretation, therapy recommendations where applicable, and relevant clinical trial matches.

Can I discuss results with a specialist?

Yes. Our clinical liaison team is available to discuss results and their clinical implications. For complex cases, we can also arrange direct consultation with the partner laboratory's medical team to support treatment decision-making.

Pricing & Billing

How much do tests cost?

Test pricing depends on the assay type, complexity, and any institutional agreements in place. We provide transparent pricing upon request and can issue formal quotations for budgeting purposes. Please contact our team for current pricing information.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept payment via institutional purchase orders, direct invoicing, and standard bank transfers. For private patients, payment arrangements can be discussed at the time of request. All invoicing is handled directly by LINK Medical.

Is a refund available if a test cannot be completed?

If a test cannot be completed due to sample quality issues or laboratory technical failure, a full refund or re-test will be offered at no additional cost. If a request is cancelled before sample processing begins, no charge will apply. Cancellations made after processing has started are assessed on a case-by-case basis. Please refer to our terms of service or contact our team for specific refund queries.

Do you offer volume or institutional pricing?

Yes. We offer tailored pricing arrangements for institutions, NHS trusts, and commercial partners with regular testing volumes. Contact our partnerships team to discuss a pricing agreement suited to your organisation's needs.

Data & Privacy

How is patient data handled?

All patient data is processed in accordance with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. Data is transmitted securely, stored in compliance with clinical data governance standards, and only shared with the relevant laboratory partner for the purpose of completing the requested test.

Is patient consent required?

Yes. Informed patient consent is required before sample collection and testing. Consent forms are provided as part of the request process and should be completed by the patient and their clinician prior to sample submission.
